Our master’s degree in sport management is the most established such program in Connecticut and the oldest program in the United States continually housed in a business school.

We have always focused on business and continue to lead the nation in cutting-edge business applications in sports. Boiled down to its essence, our degree is focused on cultivating and training industry leaders to work in the sports industry, or any other industry through hands-on experiential education.

Students may choose between a general M.S. Sport Management degree and two concentrations:

The M.S. Sport Management with a concentration in Business Analytics (36 credits and STEM designated) provides an in-depth framework for use of analytics and how data is driving critical decisions in the industry. The goal of this degree program is to enhance students’ quantitative and statistical skills (including predictive modeling and data management), build an understanding of the relationship between data and decisions, and develop the skills to communicate those relationships.

The M.S. Sport Management with a concentration in Collegiate Athletic Administration (30 credits) is a focused degree designed to provide an understanding of the management of college athletic departments/programs.

The general M.S. Sport Management degree (30 credits) allows the student to build a set of Sport Management and general business electives around the Sport Management core that reflect their particular interests and professional objectives.

A total of 30-36 credits are required for completion of the Master of Science in Sport Management degree (depending on the choice of concentration). The program is made up a Sport Management core that is common to each of the concentrations (consisting of six Sport Management courses) and a set of concentration courses (consisting of between four and six courses tailored to that particular part of the Sport Management discipline).

The M.S. Sport Management program offers an exciting hands-on degree program designed to prepare you for a successful career in professional sport team management, collegiate athletic administration, sport marketing, sport finance, sport facility management, or other career options. Internships and opportunities to learn from experienced practitioners in sport management have helped to launch successful careers for program graduates in corporations such as Octagon, WWE, ESPN, and Major League Soccer.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or from a foreign institution that is recognized by its jurisdictional Ministry of Education for granting baccalaureate degrees. Generally, a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (where A is 4.0), based on all undergraduate courses taken at an accredited college or university, is expected though consideration will be given to prior graduate study and to supplementary professional experience. English Language Requirements: The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) examination with a minimum score of 80 on the Internet-based test (IBT), The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum score of 6.5 is also acceptable. The Pearson Test of English (PTE) with a minimum score of 53 is acceptable.
