Our Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) program provides you with the skills and knowledge you need to lead a healthcare organization in the 21st century.

A flexible, cutting-edge 36 credit master’s degree in healthcare administration, our MHA is the only such program in Connecticut and one of just four in New England that is accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME).

By providing a deep understanding of the past, present, and future of healthcare, our MHA program will equip you with the skills necessary to identify challenges and changes in the healthcare system and to effectively address and respond to these issues.

The program prepares students to develop competency in 11 key areas of healthcare management. With these competencies you will develop a strong foundation to contribute to the healthcare workforce and to become a leader in today’s rapidly changing healthcare climate.

Mission

The mission of the Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) program is to provide competency-based, graduate-level education in healthcare management that prepares you for early- to mid-level management positions in the global healthcare workforce.

The program endeavors to be nationally ranked among healthcare administration programs, be the program of choice for the Southern New England healthcare community, and be recognized by our peers, our alumni, and prospective employers.

The core values of the MHA Program are:

• Competency-Based Education: We ensure that all MHA graduates have basic competencies in healthcare management.
• Evidence-Based Curriculum and Pedagogy: Our faculty provide current healthcare industry knowledge based on the latest research and policies.
• Global Awareness: We expose you to knowledge and experiences about health systems outside the U.S. and prepare you to work globally in healthcare.
• Diversity: Our classrooms include early and mid-career health professionals, international medical graduates, and more. Nearly one-third of all MHA students are minorities.

Program Outcomes

Graduates of the MHA program have a proven track record of creating successful careers in healthcare. Some decide to immediately enter the workforce while others pursue administrative fellowship programs or doctoral programs in public health, business, or healthcare management.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or from a foreign institution that is recognized by its jurisdictional Ministry of Education for granting baccalaureate degrees. Generally, a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (where A is 4.0), based on all undergraduate courses taken at an accredited college or university, is expected though consideration will be given to prior graduate study and to supplementary professional experience. English Language Requirements: The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) examination with a minimum score of 80 on the Internet-based test (IBT), The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum score of 6.5 is also acceptable. The Pearson Test of English (PTE) with a minimum score of 53 is acceptable.
