请您谈谈English12课程的重要性?

English 12 is very important because the course shows how prepared students are for the intense academic requirements needed to be successful in university. Firstly, universities need to know if students can read academic texts and have the ability to not just understand, but critically analyze them from different perspectives. They need to know if students can write with focus and convincingly express their developed opinions. Lastly, universities need to know if students can express their ideas using the English language both in the written form and orally. A high mark in English 12 ensures that the student are fully prepared for the demands of an university education.

英语12非常重要，因为这门课程展示了学生是如何为高强度学习做准备的，而这些高强度的学习是想要在大学取得成功所必须经历的。首先，大学需要知道学生是否可以阅读学术文章，且有一定的理解，能从不同角度进行批判性分析;其次，他们需要知道学生在写作时是否能明确重点，并阐述自己的观点;最后，大学需要知道学生是否可以用书面和口头从容地表达自己的想法，而英语12的高分确保了学生对大学教育的要求有充分的准备。

对于任课老师，您会有怎样的要求?

For all instructors to be successful in English 12 they must show critical thinking abilities, a strong work ethic, ability to receive constructed feedback, and a willingness to step out of their comfort zone. Students have high expectations on their teachers in English 12 and it is our responsibility to come prepared for class and to answer all of their questions. As well, instructors should have a strong grasp of their academically developed pedagogy and implement progressive learning strategies in the classroom. Lastly, the instructors must have a strong personal and ethical integrity to ensure the course’s requirements are being met at all times.

每一位任课老师想在英语12取得成功，必须有批判性思维能力、强烈的职业道德、接受学生的反馈的能力，以及乐于走出舒适区。学生对英语12的任课老师抱有很高的期待，因此，我们有责任为课堂做好充分准备，并回答他们所提出的所有问题。同时，教师应该对自己的教学方法有较强的把握，并在课堂上实施循序渐进的学习策略。最后，教师必须有过硬的个人和学术能力，以确保课程的要求在任何时候都得到满足。
