Overview

Our MSc Real Estate is a conversion programme for graduates from other academic disciplines. The course will provide you with all the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the real estate profession. It will prepare you to complete the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) to become a Chartered Surveyor.

Most of our teaching staff are professionally qualified as Chartered Surveyors, Planners, Lawyers or Accountants. So you will learn from experts in the field.

You will be paired with a recent graduate from the course who will mentor you. They will support you and help with study and careers' advice and professional development.

The course has a very successful level of graduate employment. Our graduates find employment in major international real estate consultancies and local firms. As well as banks, financial institutions, government bodies and corporates.

Learning and assessment

The MSc Real Estate provides you with a thorough grounding in the skills and expertise necessary for a career in real estate. The course comprises :

11/12 compulsory taught modules (depending on your chosen pathway) a structured Applied Real Estate Project.

Each module, except one, is 10 credits and the MSc qualification is 180 credits.

The PGDip and PGCert are available as exit awards only; students need 120 credits for the PGDip and 60 credits for the PGCert.

Career prospects

The MSc Real Estate programme at Brookes is highly respected in the profession.

In the case of UK students, it is normal for our students to secure employment before the programme ends. Most students work for the big international real estate companies in London, but our students have also been successful in securing employment in smaller niche practices in London or in other areas of the country.
