专业概况

People are travelling the country and the world as never before, so there’s a serious need for professionals who can make them feel welcome when they reach their destination. At the University of New Haven, you’ll pair big-picture business knowledge with industry-specific skills (even the art of wine appreciation) to become a world-class expert in hospitality and tourism management.

To focus your education and chart your future career path, you’ll choose one of three concentrations:

• General Concentration
• Hotel and Resort Management
• Event and Tourism Management

The Event and Tourism Management Concentration provides students with skills and experiences focused specifically on the event and tourism industries. Students are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and experience relevant for managing the sustainable tourism experience for the benefit of the traveler, host, and supporting industries. Complex aspects of event, convention, and meeting management are highlighted. Students will also be exposed to the competencies essential to functioning within the industry in an international context.

The Hospitality and Tourism Management degree without a defined concentration affords students more elective choices and therefore enables students to add a minor from within the College of Business or from other Colleges in the University if they so choose.

The Hotel and Resort Management Concentration focuses on training students to fulfill management-level careers in hotel and resort industries. After gaining functional business competencies, students specialize in areas that are critical to success in a range of leadership and managerial positions within hotels, restaurants, spas, resorts, clubs, and theme parks. Students in this concentration are exposed to several experiential learning and industry collaboration opportunities.
