Society is changing at an unprecedented pace. Advances in data and connectivity spark important conversations. Political systems evolve and new forms of democracy steward transformations in culture, identity, and values. In this complex world it is vitally important to call on talented professionals who contextualize, analyze, and shape policy that best serves the public good.

The USC Price Master of Public Policy program holds a longstanding reputation of excellence and impact within the field. Students develop “knowledge in action” through an interdisciplinary curriculum that develops analytical and theoretical competencies combined with immersive experiential learning. In addition to classroom work, students engage with clients directly through a capstone Policy Analysis Practicum and graduate from the program prepared to make important contributions in professional practice.

Many USC Price MPP alumni work in government at the municipal, state, or national level. They also serve organizations in the private and nonprofit sectors that have a vested interest in government projects and policies. Applying both qualitative and quantitative research, their work covers a wide range of fields, including social and urban services, environmental sustainability, economic development, international affairs and trade, health, education, transportation, and homeland security. Further, they weigh the impact of current policy to understand their influence and relevance to new policies.
