专业概况

在这里学什么？

This programme is research-oriented. A student is required to:

• Complete an approved programme of supervised research;
• Present a written thesis which demonstrates an advanced level of knowledge and understanding in the candidate’s field of study and which describes and summarizes the research undertakings and findings;
• Satisfy the Board of Examiners in an oral examination (and any other examination if deemed necessary), on matters relevant to the subject of the thesis; and
• Comply with supervision, attendance and all coursework requirements as laid down by the respective Faculty/ School/AVA.

This programme focuses on the following research areas: Meteorology; Climatic Variability and Climate Change; Earth Systems; Sediment logical, Paleo environmental and Marine Physical Environments; Microfossil Studies; Quaternary Studies; Geomorphology; Limnology; Hydrology; GIS and Remote Sensing Applications; Environmental Perceptions and Attitudes; Environmental Policy; Sustainable Development; Energy Studies; Urban Open Space Systems; Urban Geography; 19 Urban Planning; Asian Theories of the City; Critical Geography; Transport Geography; Travel Behavior; Time Geography; Urban Housing Markets; Cultural and Social Geography; Critical Heritage Studies; Migration; Mobility; Transnationalism; Regional Planning; Rural Transformation in China; Urban and Regional Development in China; Pacific Asia; Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta.
